Screensavers use more energy, so don’t be duped into thinking otherwise. The largest saving of energy and money a commercial enterprise could generate, though, would come from turning off each and every desktop computer or laptop computer whenever they were not in use. If all commercial enterprises were to do this, adequate energy would be saved to power the city of Chicago for an entire year.
